Thanks for looking

Use a Florish

Hi again,

This is my entry for this weeks Less Is More Challenge Week 71 - One Layer using a florish.

The Florish is achieved by using Stampin Ups Around Wheel - Baroque Border with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.  The sentiment is again Stampin Up - So Happy for you set.

I couldn't resist using a little glamour dust but it does look a little bit "blobby" in the photo.

Thanks for looking.

This challenge from Cas-ual Fridays is perfect fo me to have a play with them so here is my entry for CFC 56 - Sweet Spot.

The be happy is from Studio G - estampes claires set and the ink Stampin Ups Spot Subtles collection.

RED WHITE AND BLUE

Good Afternoon,

YES - this weeks challenge from Less Is More -

                                                           Week 70 Colour Challenge.
"It's the first challenge of the month which means it must be a colour challenge.
On this day of all days in the UK, there could be only one choice of colour and that is...
RED WHITE AND BLUE."
This immediately said to me "Fathers Day" and I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  Such                 inspiration.  Thank you ladies.
It has photographed a little dark as the Navy card looks more black - but I'm quite proud of how this one has turned out.
Made with Papermania Portobello Road - Urban Stamps and Stampin Up's Just Perfect Alphabet.   The Bus is coloured in with Berry Red and Black Promarkers (Thank goodness for the ultra fine nibs I recently purchased).

Three Challenges in One

Phew - just made the Less is More Week 69 (Recipe) Challenge this week.  We were asked to produce "Not a Square" Card.
I am also entering this card into the Cas-ual Fridays CFC 55 - "Put a Bling on it" Challenge (although I am not entirely convinced the card meets the Clean and Simple format) and also St Lukes Charity Cards Challenge - "Our Little Furry Friends".

This card was made with Stampin Up - Cool Cat Stamp Set and Dasher stamp, Scallop and BoHo punches.

Busy Bank Holiday

Hello again,

Oh boy - I really feel like I am going for it this week.  Good job it is a long weekend with an extra day.  I needed it as I have been busy making three projects that I would like to enter into four challenges.

1.  Less is More Challenge 66 Colour Challenge - Yellow and also cas-ual Fridays CFC 51 - Birthdays challenge.

It is basically three yellow circles, the middle size one stamped in black versafine using Stampin' Up's Friendly background stamp, all three soaked in water until soft then crumpled up by hand, dried with a heat gun and stuck together with a very small black card (uncrumpled) centre.  The stem and leaves are green ribbon with a Happy Birthday sentiment stamped in the corner.

2.  St Lukes Charity Card Challenge - May - One Layer

This one is made using a Belles and Whistles stamp - Beary Big Hugs.  I coloured her in with Pro-markers, made a die cut oval shape and used that as a mask so that I could blend in Scattered Straw Distress Ink round the outside, then used the small flower stamp from Stampin Up's Bliss stamp set around the edge in Scattered Straw again.  The sentiment is from Studio G - estampes claires range.

3.  Scrapbook Sisters - Stamped Background

A new website and challenge for me.  I have not done a lot of scrapbooking but you have to start somewhere and I have acquired so much stock over a period of time so here goes ...

The papers are from Stampin' Up.  I think they are from a retired set now.  I have used Inkylicious Splodge & Splat and Swiss Dots set, Hero Arts Harlequin Pattern Block, PaperArtsy - HP1102 and Stampin' Up Vintage Vogue.  The "Life is uncertain - eat dessert first" came from Scrapbook.com-quotes. which I printed off and punched out using Stampin' Ups Word Window punch, the pink flowers were made using an X-Cut punch.  Inks used Memento Rich Cocoa, Stampin' Ups Crumb Cake and Distress Inks Brushed Corduory, Scattered Straw and Spiced Marmalade.  I also used Crumb Cake card, buttons and ribbons.  I don't think I have missed anything.

In case you are wondering the story behind the cakes is I brought my sister a cake decorating kit for Christmas 2011, later in the evening we decided to have a play with it.  Please bear in mind the cakes were decorated after a couple of classes of wine, a hugh Christmas Day dinner plus countless chocolates.  Not too bad considering.

Thanks for having a read and I look forward to any comments you may be kind enough to leave.

Sketch and Spring

These are Challenges in every sense of the word.

30 minutes deciding which stamp to use, 10 minutes to make it and at least 30 minutes photographing it.  It is a very cold, dull day today and we just could not get the light right, so after trying several different rooms, angles - card and husband - and a couple of arguments thrown in for good measure it ended up with me holding a piece of tin foil on the right hand side of it to reflect the bit of light on the left hand side and Voila - we finally managed to get a photo.  I loving every minute of it.

This is my card for this weeks Less is More Challenge Number 65 and CAS-ual Friday Challenge CFC50.

The image is from Inkadinkado Set - Utopiary embossed with WOW Gold embossing powder and the sentiment from Stampin' Up Pocket Silhouettes set.  I also used Distress Inks - Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw and Brused Corduroy mounted on Kraft Card.

Thanks for looking.

How Charming

Today I have decided to get completely carried away with myself and enter this card for two challenges.

Less Is More have asked us to produce a card with a Charm and Cas-ual fridays have supplied a lovely sketch to work from so hopefully I have met both criteria with this entry.

Hope you like it.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Trendy Trees stamp set.

Thanks for having a look.

A Bit Of Bling

Note to self : You can not get clever with glitter!

I think I am becoming addicted to these challenges.  I saw this link on another bloggers page so decided to have a go.

st lukes charity cards challenge

To make:
White and Pink Card
Inkylicious Swiss Dots stamp
Stampin Up Afterthoughts stamp set
WOW Embossing Powder - Sparkling Snow
Pink Glitter
Crafts Too - Circle Dies

I decided the best way to deal with glitter was to spread some glue on my crafting sheet, then use that as the "ink" for the Swiss Dots stamp and stamp onto white card, sprinkle with glitter and of course it would stick perfectly with no shedding.  Wrong.  All I can say is it worked on the practise piece.

Version 2 - Add Stampin Up Melon Mambo Ink Pad and WOW clear Embossing Powder.

Patience is a virtue.
